Arrival at Camp Seward in Washinton, D.C.

Saturday, October 25, 1862

After a three day journey through New York City, Philadelphia, and Baltimore, the men of the Twenty-Seventh Connecticut Regiment arrived in Washington, D.C. The regiment pitched tents in a steady drizzling rain at Camp Seward near Arlington House, the former home of Robert E. Lee.¹
